01 · Requirements

MotoPress comes first.
Install and activate MotoPress Hotel Booking Lite or Premium before opening Front Desk. Your accommodations and bookings remain entirely in MotoPress.
02 · Installation
From ZIP to Front Desk

Download the plugin
Download bold-front-desk-lite-0.9.4.zip and keep the file zipped.

Upload it to WordPress
In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Select the ZIP and choose Install Now.

Activate and open
Activate Bold Front Desk Lite. Click Open Front Desk in the success message or on the Plugins screen.

There are no settings, API keys, imports or external accounts to configure.
03 · Access and roles
Only the right people get in.
Front Desk contains guest information and therefore requires an authenticated WordPress account. Access is granted automatically to these existing roles:
01Administrator
Can use Front Desk immediately and manage plugins.
02MotoPress Hotel Manager
Can use Front Desk without administrator access.
For a reception colleague, edit their WordPress user and assign MotoPress’s existing Hotel Manager role. Front Desk adds its dedicated viewing permission to that role and does not create a duplicate role.
04 · Daily use
Three views for the working day.
CalendarScan fourteen days of occupancy
Move to the previous or next period, return to today and distinguish direct bookings, external iCal reservations and blocked dates.
BookingsFind a current or upcoming booking
Search by guest, email address or booking number. Filter by confirmed or pending status and open complete read-only details.
Refresh when you need it.
Use the circular refresh button in each view to request the latest information directly from MotoPress Hotel Booking.
05 · Phone access
Put Front Desk on your home screen.
Open Front Desk in your phone browser while signed in, then use the browser’s home-screen option.
iPhone · Safari
Tap Share → Add to Home Screen → Add.
Android · Chrome
Open the browser menu → Add to Home screen or Install app.
Button names can vary slightly by browser version. Front Desk needs an internet connection; guest and booking information is deliberately not available offline.
06 · Privacy and safety
Read-only, private and kept in WordPress.
- ✓No booking changes
Lite cannot create, edit, cancel or delete bookings and cannot record payments.
- ✓No separate database
Front Desk reads data through MotoPress and does not transmit booking or guest data to Bold Plugins.
- ✓No guest data offline
Booking responses are private and not cached on the phone. Every data request checks the user’s permission.
07 · Troubleshooting
Quick answers to common problems.
Front Desk says MotoPress is missing or inactive
Install, activate or update MotoPress Hotel Booking Lite or Premium. Administrators receive a direct action; other users should contact the site administrator.
I do not have permission to view Front Desk
Confirm that you are signed in as an Administrator or as a user with MotoPress’s Hotel Manager role. Sign out and in again after changing a role.
My session has expired
Use the Sign in again button. Front Desk will return you to the app after a successful WordPress login.
Front Desk cannot reach the site
Check your connection and refresh. If the problem remains, ask your host or security plugin provider to confirm that authenticated WordPress REST API requests are not blocked.
The /frontdesk/ address shows a 404 page
Go to Settings → Permalinks and click Save Changes once, then open Front Desk again from the Plugins screen.
08 · Updates and removal
Keep it current. Remove it cleanly.
Updating from a ZIP
Download the newest release, choose Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and upload the new ZIP. When WordPress detects the existing plugin, choose Replace current with uploaded.
Uninstalling
Deactivate and delete Bold Front Desk Lite from the Plugins screen. Its dedicated permissions and options are removed; your MotoPress accommodations, bookings and settings are untouched.
